Our Community Focus

At Hughes, giving back isn't a program — it's part of who we are. Our Champions dedicate their time, expertise, and heart to three areas where we can make the greatest impact across Southern Arizona.

Financial Literacy

We believe financial confidence changes lives. Our team leads hands-on workshops, classroom lessons, and real-world simulations that help students, families, and adults build the skills to budget, save, borrow wisely, and plan for the future.

Youth & Education

From elementary classrooms to college campuses, we invest in the next generation. Through partnerships with local schools, Junior Achievement, and youth-focused nonprofits, we help kids discover their potential and prepare for a brighter tomorrow.

Community Partnerships

We stand alongside the organizations that make Southern Arizona stronger — supporting nonprofits, cultural landmarks, and community events that reflect the values we share with our members and neighbors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Hughes Champions?

Hughes Champions reflects the credit union's commitment to strengthening the communities it serves — employees volunteering their time, supporting local causes, and sharing financial education with people of all ages. Through hands-on involvement and meaningful partnerships, Hughes stands alongside the community to help create lasting impact where we live and work.

How do I request a sponsorship or donation?

If your organization or group is a 501(c)(3), submit a request through the sponsorship request form. You'll need to provide your IRS determination letter confirming 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status — this is required for sponsorship consideration. If you're a school without a 501(c)(3), contact us directly.

Does Hughes sponsor individuals?

No. Hughes does not provide sponsorship or donations to individuals — only verified organizations or groups are considered.

Submitting a request does not ensure fulfillment — Hughes receives far more requests than it can grant, and declining a request doesn't imply the organization isn't valued or worthy of support.
