Youth Certificate Accounts Frequently Asked Questions

You may join Hughes Federal Credit Union if you:

  • Live, work, worship or attend school in Tucson
  • Are employed by one of our Select Employer Groups
  • Have a family / household member who is a member of Hughes: Family member – a spouse, child, sister/brother, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsister/brother, or adopted child. A household member is a person living in the same residence sharing household expenses.
  • Make a small donation to one of the following community Special Interest Groups:
    • Friends of the Oro Valley Public Library
    • Friends of the Pima County Public Library
    • Friends of the Kirk Bear Canyon Library
  • Account must be opened by a Parent, Grandparent, or Legal Guardian who will be a joint owner on the membership
  • Parent/Grandparent/Legal Guardian must have valid, government-issued photo ID (i.e. Driver’s License/ID issued over 30 days ago or current U.S. Passport with signature)
  • Copy of Youth Applicant’s Social Security card
  • If Youth Membership will have a Checking account, Youth Applicant must have valid, government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/Permit/ID issued over 30 days ago or current U.S. Passport with signature)
  • If Youth Membership will NOT have a checking account but youth member will have savings account access, youth member can present a current school year picture ID
