When can I contribute to my Roth IRA?

You are eligible to contribute if you earn compensation (or file a joint tax return with a spouse who earns compensation) and your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) is less than or within the defined limits. 

How can I deposit to my Roth IRA?

The required form for IRA deposits can be completed at a branch or through email by contacting a Member Services Representative at 520-794-8341. 

Can I open an IRA online?

We do not have an online application at this time. If you are not a member, access our New Member Application to Get Started with Hughes. If you are already a member, please visit a branch or call our Contact Center at 520-794-8341 to speak to a Member Services Representative. 

How can I withdraw from my Roth IRA?

The required form for IRA withdrawals can be completed at a branch or through email by contacting a Member Services Representative at (520) 794-8341. 

What is the difference between a traditional IRA and a Roth IRA?

With a Roth IRA, you contribute after-tax dollars, your money grows tax-free, and you can generally make tax and penalty-free withdrawals after age 59 1/2. With a Traditional IRA, you contribute pre- or after-tax dollars, your growth grows tax-deferred, and withdrawals are taxed as current income after age 59 1/2.
