Transfer your higher costing credit card, department store or gas card balances to your Hughes credit card and save with our low rates. There is no balance transfer fee. Conduct your balance transfer by calling 866-820-3941. Please have your card number handy. Interest begins accruing on the transaction date.

We offer convenient Credit Card payment options

  • AutoPay – Credit Card payments can be made automatically each month through our AutoPay program. Payments are automatically deducted from your Hughes FCU checking account.
  • eBranch Online Banking – Use online banking by transferring money from your checking or savings account to the credit card.
  • In Person – See a teller at the credit union.
  • By Mail – Send payment to Hughes Federal Credit Union Visa (or MasterCard), PO Box 60510, City of Industry, CA 91716-0510.
  • PayFast – Call Cardholder Services at 866-820-3941, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Payments can be made from another financial institution checking account. A $4.95 convenience fee applies.

Register your credit card online. Have your Hughes credit card number handy, login to Online Banking, click on the Accounts tab, click on the Credit Card link, and follow the instructions. You may view your credit card online anytime you are in Online Banking on your computer. Credit card online is not available on the mobile app at this time.

Credit card eStatement history is stored from the moment you enroll, up to 24 months.

Chip Cards

New EMV or “chip” cards make your transactions more secure.

EMV Chip CardNow Available! Hughes Federal Credit Union has made your Visa® Credit Card even better, with the latest chip technology called EMV (Europay, Mastercard®, Visa), designed to prevent credit card and debit card fraud.

Members will receive a Hughes EMV credit card on new and reissued cards. EMV debit cards will be available in the future. The new embedded chip deters the copying of your account information, better protecting you against fraud.

Use your new chip card anywhere Visa is accepted.

At retailers that already have chip-enabled terminals, simply insert your EMV card and follow the prompts. At retailers without chip-enabled terminals, check out as you always did. For phone or online purchases, you will continue to provide your card information like you have in the past!

Activate the new. Destroy the old.

Your new chip card replaces your current Hughes credit card when you receive it. Please activate your new chip card immediately and destroy your old one. Your PIN has not changed.

If you’ve authorized merchants to automatically charge your account, you’ll need to update the card information on record. It’s best to do that right away too!

It’s easy to make a purchase at a chip-enabled terminal:

EMV Step 1Step 1 - Insert your new card “chip first” into the chip-enabled terminal. Leave your card in the terminal throughout your transaction.

EMV Step 2Step 2 - Approve the transaction as you always do.

International travel

Due to increasing fraudulent activity in some foreign countries, our credit card processor has advised that we restrict certain types of credit card authorizations in the following countries:

China Cuba* Hong Kong Indonesia
Iran* Italy Japan Libya*
Malaysia Morocco North Korea Singapore
South Korea Taiwan Turkey  

*PIN transactions are blocked from these countries.

If traveling to these countries, make other payment arrangements such as traveler's checks from the Credit Union. It is also recommended that you know your credit card Personal Identification Number (PIN). In case of emergency, you can obtain ATM cash advances up to your available credit limit at participating machines worldwide. If you don't know your
PIN, please contact our operations department in ample time well in advance of your trip so a copy can be mailed to you. Your potential for losses due to credit card fraud is a maximum of $50. Our provider has a sophisticated fraud detection program.

Traveling, going on a trip? Please contact us before you travel. Activity on credit cards is monitored to protect from possible fraud. Notifying us ahead of time is helpful to identify suspicious transactions on your account.
