Annual Scholarship Program


Hughes Federal Credit Union awards three (3) scholarships to high school seniors who are members of the Credit Union each year. The scholarships will be awarded to those students who have shown scholastic excellence, participate in community service and are interested in advancing their education.

Applications are now being accepted from high school seniors for Hughes Federal Credit Union's 3rd Annual Scholarship Program.  Applicants must be a member in good standing, a high school senior and entering a college or trade school in Fall of 2008 upon graduation.

Scholarships will be awarded to the top three high school seniors in the amounts of:

Scholarships are awarded as follows:
  1st Place — $1,500
  2nd Place — $1,000
  3rd Place — $500

Applicants are judged by a committee on his/her community participation, academic standing and a written essay on one of these topics:

•  How to Improve Your Credit Score
•  The Difference Between Credit Unions and Banks
•  Why Credit Union Should be Tax Exempt
