High Yield & Premium Yield Savings
With a minimum deposit of only $1,000, you can open a High Yield Savings Account and begin earning dividends comparable to money market rates. As with all Hughes Federal Credit Union accounts, your deposits are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $100,000 per member (IRA accounts are insured up to $250,000 per member).

If you have a minimum of $75,000 to place in this type of account, consider the Premium Yield Savings Account with an even higher rate. You'll be able to maintain access to your funds if needed. The account can be closed at any time without penalty.

No minimum deposit required for High Yield and Premium Yield Savings Accounts

Members are no longer required to make a minimum deposit of $500.00 into High Yield and Premium Yield Savings accounts.

Members can now be set up for direct deposit or auto transfer into those accounts for any amount (for example, deposit $100 into your High Yield account each month).
Minimum balance requirements and minimum withdrawal requirements of at least $500 still apply to those accounts.

Hughes FCU has made an amendment to our Share Accounts Information and Disclosure booklet dated July 2007 under section 13. High Yield Account. Please contact the Credit Union for a copy or pick one up at any branch.

To open your account, call a Member Service Representative at (520) 794-8341 or email us with your request.
