We're Strong and Stable
You've heard about the sub-prime lending practices that have resulted in a strong backlash for many financial institutions. As a result, bank stock prices fell and the overall stability of some financial institutions gave way to shaky ground. But not at Hughes. We don't participate in risky lending practices and never will. Your Credit Union is strong and stable. We've been here since 1952 and we're here for you now-to help you with that car loan, refinance your mortgage or save for a rainy day.
As a federal credit union, we're insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a federal government agency. And since we're not listed on the stock market, we work hard to maintain our philosophy of keeping loan rates low and charging lower or no fees for our products and services. Your savings are insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA. IRAs are insured up to $250,000. Click here for more information about the NCUA and How Your Accounts are Insured.

Hughes Receives a Five-Star Rating From BauerFinancial!
With ongoing news about financial problems plaguing the banking industry, Hughes is proud to report that BauerFinancial has awarded Hughes with its highest rating of five stars. BauerFinancial, Inc. has been analyzing and reporting on the financial condition of the nation's banking industry since 1983. Through the years BauerFinancial has earned the reputation of "the nation's bank rating service".
Federally-insured credit unions are required to file detailed financial reports with the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) four times each year. BauerFinancial subjects this quarterly data to an unbiased and independent analysis. Based on the results of this analysis, a star-rating is assigned on a scale of zero to five stars, with five stars indicating a "superior and recommended" rating. BauerFinancial states that "no institution pays for its rating, nor can they elude it."
Hughes' five-star rating would not be possible without the loyal support of our members-owners. We thank our member for their support and participation in their Credit Union, and look forward to making a positive difference in your financial life for years to come.
